Error "Requested registry access is not allowed" and other error messages appear in the NuGenesis Archive Agent Log when trying to archive Empower projects into NuGenesis SDMS - WKB264429

SYMPTOMS

• NuGenesis SDMS is not able to archive projects from Empower
• Archive Agent Log reports the following error messages:
  • "Requested registry access is not allowed"
  • "GetProjectList failed"
  • "error in Remote PreProcess method"
  • "PreProcessor call failed for the remote server: servername"

ENVIRONMENT

• NuGenesis SDMS 9.3
• Empower 3

CAUSE

The Waters SDMS EmpowerDA DataExchangeService and the Waters SDMS EmpowerDA DataExchangeService DM Windows Service User do not have the required Registry Access permission.  

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Add the Waters SDMS EmpowerDA DataExchangeService and the Waters SDMS EmpowerDA DataExchangeService DM Windows Service User into the Administrator group of the server/client in which the NuGenesis Remote Empower Adapter is installed.
2. Restart the Waters SDMS EmpowerDA DataExchangeService and the Waters SDMS EmpowerDA DataExchangeService DM Windows Services.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

In most cases, the Waters SDMS EmpowerDA DataExchangeService and the Waters SDMS EmpowerDA DataExchangeService DM Windows Service User is the same as the NuGenesis RPC Service.
