Error "System Code (32) - The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another Process" appears in the NuGenesis Archive Agent activity logs - WKB25934

SYMPTOMS

• The following error is reported in the NuGenesis Archive Agent activity log:
  • "Error category: 1  System Code (32) - The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another Process."

ENVIRONMENT

• NuGenesis 8 SDMS

CAUSE

The file being scanned is in use by another process.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Determine which process has the file in use and take steps to allow NuGenesis Archive Agent to access the file being scanned. With instruments that capture data over time, the Archive Protocol in the File Capture template can be used to delay capture and prevent this error.
