How are the Reagent and Instrument columns populated with data in the Test Logs table in NuGenesis LMS? - WKB206612

Article number: 206612

ENVIRONMENT

  • NuGenesis 9 LMS
  • NuGenesis 8 LMS
  • NuGenesis Smart Builder

ANSWER

The Reagent and Instrument columns in the Test Logs table are set by the system when it receives result metadata from Smart Builder for a specific test or tests. To populate those columns, the Smart Builder form must be configured to send the result metadata "SUMMARYINFO" to LMS, and the configuration must point to a range within the Excel workbook that contains a table of data, as follows. The range must be two columns wide and at least one row. The name of the range is arbitrary. The rows may contain the following data, as applicable to the form:

oos Y if Out Of Spec; N or blank if within spec
instcalibration Y if the instrument requires calibration; otherwise N or blank
instexpired Y if the instrument is expired; otherwise N or blank
instmaintenance Y if the instrument requires maintenance; otherwise N or blank
reagents Y if reagents were used in the test or tests; otherwise N or blank

The section must have the metadata Form Summary Info, and the metadata value must be set to one of the events in the LMS document signature workflow.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The "Summary Info" data allows a reviewer or audit to find issues with a "Review by exception" model, rather than by reviewing each result data individually. It is the responsibility of the form developer to configure logic within the form to set these values appropriately. For example, if a test result as entered into the form is out of specification, the form hidden sheets must have logic to set oos to Y within the SUMMARYINFO structure.

Use of the Summary Info in LMS Sample Management is optional. If this functionality is not wanted, the "Form Summary Info" metadata should be removed from the relevant template sections.
