How to configure selected Empower projects to archive on deletion in SDMS - WKB20397

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Configure Empower Project Archive using Archive on Delete functionally in the Empower client to capture/delete only selected Empower projects using SDMS. 

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 2
• Empower 3
• NuGenesis 8 SDMS
• NuGenesis 9 SDMS

PROCEDURE

1. Log in to an Empower client with administrator privileges and open Configuration Manager.
2. Click the View menu > SDMS Archive Properties.... 
3. Verify that "Archive When Project Deleted" is selected and that "Selected" is in the list. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This procedure configures Empower to mark selected projects internally for backup by SDMS, when the selected projects are deleted from Empower. The projects are not backed up by Empower itself upon deletion. NuGenesis must be configured to look for the "Archive on Delete" projects. One line in an SDMS Archive Template must be configured for the Empower system and have its Grouping option set to "Empower-based".

Setting or clearing this check box in a parent Empower project will propagate the setting to all child projects.

To select or clear the setting in a child project, the setting in the parent project must be cleared.
