How to remove the default web apps from Apache Tomcat - WKB203554

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Remove the default web apps from an Apache Tomcat server.

ENVIRONMENT

• NuGenesis 9 SDMS
  • Apache Tomcat v9.0.x
• NuGenesis 8 SDMS
  • Apache Tomcat v6.0.29 - v8.5.x

PROCEDURE

1. Start a remote session to the NuGenesis web server and browse to the installation path for Apache Tomcat.
   • NG9 default: Drive:\Program Files (x86)\Waters\apache-tomcat-9.0.8
   • NG8 default: Drive:\Program Files (x86)\apache-tomcat-6.0.29
2. Open the \webapps folder.
3. The two required web apps for NuGenesis are WebVision and NGAudit. Remove all other folders, including:
   • docs
   • examples
   • host-manager
   • manager
   • ROOT
4. Restart the Apache Tomcat service.
