General Failure: 0 of 1 pumps respond for ACQUITY M-Class in MassLynx - WKB7274

SYMPTOMS

• Sample Manager gives an error message: General Failure: Only 0 of 1 pumps respond

ENVIRONMENT

• MassLynx 4.1
• M-Class
• M-Class driver pack 1.53

CAUSE

The ACQUITY driver pack DP4 SR1 was loaded with more than one sample manager on top of M-Class drivers.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Uninstall the M-Class drivers using the M-Class software and restart the PC.
2. Uninstall the unwanted or excess ACQUITY (non M-Class) drivers using the software or driver pack they were installed from, in this case, Driver Pack 4 SR1. Confirm that there is only one Sample Manager loaded. Leave any drivers needed for an ACQUITY if LC switching is used on this PC. 
3. Restart the PC.
4. Install the necessary M-Class drivers. 
5. Restart the PC.
6. Use the switching utility to select Nano or M-Class.
7. Open MassLynx.
8. Open the Inlet Editor.
9. Open the console and, on the main system page, select Configure > Configure Instrument modules.
10. Ensure that the pump and trap valve module are selected and adjust their names if desired. Select OK.
11. The console will open and close. Allow this process to complete. 
12. Exit MassLynx and restart the PC or run stopACQUITYprocesses.
13. Open MassLynx. (Everything should be set up and functioning.)
