ANSWER
The maximum number of channels (e.g. MRM transitions) in a single function is 32 on any instrument.
Newer Quad instruments (e.g. Xevo TQ-S micro, Xevo TQ-XS and Xevo TQ absolute) can have up to 1024 functions, with up to 32 channels in each.
Older Quad instruments (e.g. Xevo TQD and Xevo TQ-S) can have up to 512 functions with up to 32 channels in each.
(NB They can have double this number of functions after finishing acquisition if they created PICS scans).
The number of simultaneously acquiring functions is less. Probably 555 on the latest instruments and 500 before that, due to the minimum dwell and interscan times.
