Cannot open the MassLynx data files acquired from the Tune page - WKB46298

SYMPTOMS

• Acquire data from the Tune page
• Browse to .raw file in the DATA folder of the project
• Double-click on the .dat file
• Error states file cannot be opened

ENVIRONMENT

• MassLynx 4.0
• MassLynx 4.1
• MassLynx 4.2

CAUSE

Files cannot be opened directly. Must open file from MassLynx chromatogram or spectrum view.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. On the main MassLynx page, go to File > Open Data File (opens the Data Browser).
2. Browse to the file of interest.
3. Select the .raw file in the left-hand panel of the Data Browser.
4. Select Chromatogram, Spectrum, or both in the lower-right corner of the Data Browser.
5. Click OK.
