OALogin "Low on memory" error when logging in samples or after reload on TOF MS instruments - WKB3424
Article number: 3424
SYMPTOMS
- Logging in samples / selecting the method in OALogin on a TOF MS gives system low on memory error
- Also seen after reloading OALogin and replacing the OALogin.pro file
- OpenLynx methods (*.olp) not visible in the drop-down box
ENVIRONMENT
- MassLynx
- OpenLynx, OALogin, OA Manager
- Any TOF based MS instrument running with MassLynx
- Xevo QTOF MS, Xevo G2-TOF, Xevo G2-QTOF, Xevo G2-S TOF, Xevo G2-S QTOF, Xevo G2-XS, Synapt, Synapt G2, Synapt G2 S, Synapt G2 Si
CAUSE
SpecProc is used for the instrument installation and has many *.olp files associated with the program.
OpenLynx uses *.olp method files stored in C:\MassLynx.
If the SpecProc files are left in the MassLynx directory then OpenLynx searches all these files during sample log in causing memory issues.
FIX or WORKAROUND
- Move all the .olp files that are not OpenLynx methods to a folder that is not C:\MassLynx.
- Move all the SpecProc based .olp files into the C:\MassLynx\Commission.PRO\
