MS Console Error: ACQUITY TUV Communications Failure - WKB2405

SYMPTOMS

• Cannot run samples due to Communications Failure messages in the MS Console for the ACQUITY TUV
• Inlet method editor is configured without the ACQUITY TUV
• MS Console shows the ACQUITY TUV present in the Systems tree
• ACQUITY TUV is powered-off

ENVIRONMENT

• MassLynx 4.1
• Xevo G2-S TOF
• ACQUITY H-Class
• ACQUITY TUV
• ACQUITY FLR
• Recent switch from an ACQUITY TUV to an ACQUITY FLR detector

CAUSE

• MS Console still configured for ACQUITY TUV

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Exit MassLynx and the MS Console programs.
2. Run StopACQUITYProcess.cmd found in C:\ProgramFiles (x86)\Waters Instruments\Bin.
3. Rename ACQUITYSettings.xml to ACQUITYSettings_old.xml found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Waters Instruments\Settings.
4. Run Waters DHCP Server Configuration.exe found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Waters Instruments.
5. Remove the IP address for the ACQUITY TUV from the listing that appears.
6. Restart MassLynx.
