MassLynx is sluggish or not responding when creating the sample list - WKB19519

SYMPTOMS

• MassLynx is slow or not responding when creating a sample list
• Circle pointer seen on adding samples to the sample list
• Time lags and delays seen in data collection

ENVIRONMENT

• MassLynx 4.1

CAUSE

Too many data files in the data folder for the current product. The operating system must read through the files in order to create a new data file. If there are a lot of files to read through, it bogs down.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Limit the number of data files in the Project.PRO > Data folder to less than 3000 by doing the following:

• Backing up and deleting the data from the data folder
• Creating a new project every month
