TargetLynx method signature time and method file time may be slightly different in MassLynx Security - WKB18061
Article number: 18061
SYMPTOMS
- There is sometimes a small difference (for example, 1 second) between the signature timestamp that is displayed in the header of the TargetLynx Method report and the timestamp for the method file that is displayed at the top of the TargetLynx Sample Summary Report and other reports
ENVIRONMENT
MassLynx 4.1 Security
CAUSE
This is expected behavior. There is no guarantee that the times are exactly the same, because they reflect different software processes that occur when the method file is created:
- The signature time is the time that is stored in the MassLynx checksum file.
- The method file time is the time that is stored in the operating system.
The method file time may sometimes be very slightly later that the signature time, especially if the operating system or hard disk is slow. Both times are correct.
FIX or WORKAROUND
