OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Have Empower identify the channel with the higher peak response and report the higher value when you run a method collecting two wavelengths per injection from a PDA.

PROCEDURE

STEP 1
Create a simple peak, intersample custom field to calculate the ratio of the responses between the peaks in channel 1 to channel 2 (Figure 1).

STEP 2:
Create a simple Custom Peak field to report the channel with the higher response (Figure 2).

STEP 3
Finally, create a Custom Peak field to report the larger response (Figure 3). Here is the full equation, which is cut off in the screen capture: 
LT(Reposne_Ratio,1)*(SAME.1.280nm(Area))+GT(Reposne_Ratio,1)*(SAME.1.240nm(Area))

STEP 4
An example result is provided (Figure 4).
