Getting Out of Memory error when opening projects in Empower - WKB99510

SYMPTOMS

• Getting Out of Memory error when opening projects or methods in Empower.
• Server has 24GB of RAM.

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3 Enterprise
• Feature Release 3, 4, 5
• Citrix server

CAUSE

Server is at 93% of server RAM capacity.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Increase RAM memory to 48GB.
2. Increase page file to 64GB.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Specification for FR5 states 16GB RAM 4x RAM for virtual memory page file.

This may not be enough if single Citrix server is managing background Citrix services in addition to hosting Empower and running maximum of 25 concurrent users.

Another error that may be seen is:

Microsoft .NET Framework .Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. 'System.OutOfMemoryException'
