Acquisition stops when another Empower user connects to run sample - WKB91072

SYMPTOMS

• When another user connects to the run sample of a GC system 7890/7697, a message appears in the Instrument Status of the run sample:
  System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
• Acquisition stops (chromatogram not updated); no instrument failure (run sample remains in Running mode)
• Error in the message center: Instrument owned by <Name of the LAC/E32>. Unable to perform the operation because the system is in monitor mode

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3 Enterprise
• Agilent ICF Support 3.1

CAUSE

The Headspace 7697 IP address is configured in the Waters DHCP Server Configuration with the driver HCO 3.0.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Remove the IP address of the HS 7697 from the Waters DHCP Server Configuration.
