What spectra are used for baseline correction of extracted PDA spectra? - WKB84968

Article number: 84968

ENVIRONMENT

  • Empower
  • PDA
  • Extracted spectra
  • Baseline subtraction

ANSWER

The baseline spectrum that is used to do the baseline correction of a spectrum at time X is calculated as a linear interpolation at time X of the spectrum at the start time of the peak and the spectrum at the end time of the peak.

The number of spectra combined to calculate the baseline when baseline correction is applied cannot be changed for PDA spectra. In this case, Empower behaves as if you are averaging only one spectrum; the baseline spectra value will therefore be 2.

This value represents one spectrum at peak liftoff and one at peak touchdown.
