Error: "222: external not ready" with Agilent Headspace 7697A using Empower - WKB8319

SYMPTOMS

• In the Empower message center error, 7697A  222: external not ready when run is started

ENVIRONMENT

• Agilent GC 7890B  
• Agilent Headspace 7697A
• Empower 3 Service Release 2 Hotfix1

CAUSE

APGC setting in method set to active low

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Open the Empower Instrument Method
2. Click on 7697A > General tab
3. Under hand shake mode, look for polarity > Set it to active high
