"Vial Attribute not valid" error message with Agilent 7890B and 7697A using Empower - WKB8315

SYMPTOMS

• When run begins, message center shows vial attribute not valid
• Instrument failure in the Run Samples

ENVIRONMENT

• Agilent GC 7890B  
• Agilent Headspace 7697A
• Empower 3 Service Release 2 Hotfix1

CAUSE

The injection volume in the samples table is too high.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Adjust the injection volume in the sample set method.
2. Maximum injection volume should not exceed 50% of the syringe volume.
3. Either reduce the injection volume to less than 5 uL or install a larger syringe.
4. Define the correct syringe volume by clicking the link in the Run Sample control panel for Fr. Syringe or Bk. Syringe.
