Misidentified peaks in Empower - WKB74933

SYMPTOMS

• Two peaks have very close retention times
• One peak is misidentified as the peak that occurs next to it
• The other peak is identified as an unknown
• Changing retention times and the retention time window do not cause the peaks to be identified properly

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3

CAUSE

The Peak Match column on the Components tab of the Processing Method is set to Closest.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Set the Peak Match in the Components tab of the Processing Method to Greatest Height.
