Instrument failure after moving Agilent injector from front to back using Empower - WKB67652

SYMPTOMS

• When setting up the method, error is "instrument failure".
• Shows the ALS under front injector in the Methods tab. 
• Injector was physically moved from front to back.

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3 FR2 SR2 HF2 enterprise
• Agilent 7890 GC with ALS 7650
• Agilent ICF 3.0 - Agilent Instrument Control Framework (ICF) Support Version 3.0  

CAUSE

System configuration not updated in Pre-configuration Utility. The previous configuration in Pre-configuration Utility assumes that the injector is still in front.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Run the Preconfiguration Utility. See WKB69080.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Creating two instruments does not work. You can configure it and make one offline. Both cannot be online.
