Incorrect Empower user type when using QuickStart - WKB6388
SYMPTOMS
- When using QuickStart, an analyst user has administrator type rights
ENVIRONMENT
- Empower 3
- QuickStart interface
CAUSE
The user has project access set to "Owner and Group" and Group User Type access set to "Administrator".
These settings override an individual's user type privileges for the project.
When the user opens QuickStart, the project with which they select to use QuickStart has the Group user type set to Administrator; this gives the user administrator rights regardless of the original user type.
FIX or WORKAROUND
To avoid this issue and preserve the user's original user type, select the group user type Users Own Type.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Information from the help guide section "Setting user access to projects."
Tip: The Group User Type (and its associated privileges) that you select overrides a user's individual user type (and associated privileges). To preserve a user's original user type privileges for access to the selected project, select User's Own Type from the list.
