CRI-3483 processing method can be saved with no entry in Minimum Area; error "Please enter a value for this item" - WKB62695

SYMPTOMS

• The following error message appears when opening the processing method
• The following error message appears when opening results in Review and automatically opening the processing method

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower
• Reproduced in Empower 3 SR2 HF2
• Reproduced in Empower FR3
• Reproduced in Empower FR4
• Reproduced in SR3

CAUSE

The following workflow produces the error:

1. Open a channel in Review.
2. Integrate and quantitate and/or calibrate.
3. Add a minimum height.
4. Go to Processing Parameters tab.
5. Keep "minimum area" blank or delete the value if populated.
6. Go to the main Chromatogram window.
7. Click Save processing method.
8. Specify name.
9. Close Review.
10. Open channel in Review.
11. Load the processing method previously created.
12. Error appears.

This is not an exhaustive list of the actions that may allow for a NULL value to be saved in a numeric processing method field. 

FIX or WORKAROUND

There is no fix or workaround other than to ensure that the minimum area field is populated prior to saving.

Acknowledge the error, specify a value in the field, and then save the processing method.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This behavior can occur in any field that accepts a numeric value.  For example, it was observed related to Minimum Height as well as Minimum Area
