SYMPTOMS

• Instrument failure when trying to start an injection with an Agilent 7890 GC in Empower
• No other errors are observed in the message center or on the GC front panel
• The 7890 GC shows "ok YES" in the node properties but does not respond to a ping

ENVIRONMENT

• Agilent 7890 GC
• Agilent 6890 GC
• Empower 3 Enterprise
• LAC/E 32
• Agilent LC

CAUSE

Unexplained  loss of communication

FIX or WORKAROUND

• Reboot the LAC/E and the GC or LC
• Create new sample set method
