Empower processing for a PDA-derived channel is aborted due to a memory allocation failure - WKB55607

SYMPTOMS

• Using the Process tool to process PDA data for a derived channel in the method set brings an error message: "Background processing job aborted due to a memory allocation failure"
• Prior to this error, there are other, repetitive errors: "Chrom map view of file failed" and "Not enough storage is available to process this command"

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3

CAUSE

Improvements are needed in Empower to correct this issue.

FIX or WORKAROUND

In the method set used for processing, select the "Save PDA Extracted Channels" option and reprocess the sample set using the Process tool.

Reboot LAC/E to clear memory and reprocess data directly on the LAC/E without an instrument attached.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

PCS# 54642 - "Not Enough Memory to Process Command" is posted to the Waters website for this issue. This has been fixed in Empower 3.8.
