7890A and 7697A instrument method fails to set up in Empower - WKB53399

SYMPTOMS

• "Set up failed" error message when trying to set up an instrument method with 7890A GC and 7697A Headspace
• IP address configured correctly as static on the front panel of the GC and Headspace
• IP addresses for GC and Headspace communicate successfully
• Instrument information configured correctly in DHCP
• Headspace firmware is A.01.06 and GC firmware is A.01.16

ENVIRONMENT

• 7890 driver 2.6
• Headspace control option 3.0
• Empower 3 SR2 HF2

CAUSE

Unknown.

Rolling firmware of 7890A GC back to A.01.15 resolves the issue.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Move 7890A firmware back to A.01.15.
