When processing GPC sample set, "invalid curve" in Empower - WKB30064

SYMPTOMS

• When batch processing a sample set, the curve is marked invalid
• Calibration curve is manually built
• Individual samples can be processed manually, but cannot batch process
• Standards are listed as narrow standards 
• Samples are listed as broad unknowns
• Vo and Vt are set properly

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3
• GPC 

CAUSE

No molecular weight values are listed in the component editor.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Add molecular weights in the component editor:

1. Highlight the sample set, right-click, and select alter sample.
2. In the Alter Sample window, click Edit in the toolbar and select Amount. This opens the Component Editor.
3. In the table, specify the known molecular weights for the standards.
4. When all of the molecular weights are specified, click OK.
5. In the Alter Sample window, click File > Save.
6. Close Alter Sample and reprocess the sample set.
