Data file is not created at the start of a sample set in Empower - WKB29436
Article number: 29436
SYMPTOMS
- Three sample sets were run in which the run failed prior to the first injection ever being made
- In the first two sample sets, a data file was created for the expected channel, and when the sample set was brought in to Review, a "Data Missing" message was observed; when bringing this sample set into Preview/Publisher to review the Acquisition Log, an Instrument Failure message appeared in the log
- The third sample set did not create a file for the expected first injection, so the Acquisition log could not be reviewed
ENVIRONMENT
- Empower 3 Service Release 2
CAUSE
This is a timing issue.
In the scenario where the data file is present, the failure must have occurred after the data file was created, so there can be a data missing message. In the scenario where there is no file created, the failure occurred at an earlier time (relative to the other data), and because no data file was created, there cannot be a data missing message. Another way to look at this is that there is no channel present in Review—there is no channel to tie a data missing message to (the message normally comes up when you try to access the file, but in this case there is no file to access).
