Agilent LC Control Panel unavailable in Empower Run Sample window - WKB2873

SYMPTOMS

  • Citrix shows a COM error when launching system
  • While Logged into the LAC/E:
    •  Ping IP Address and get reply
    • System is seen in DHCP
    • In the Run Samples Screen, Agilent LC Control Panel is unavailable

ENVIRONMENT

  • Empower 3 Enterprise
  • Citrix
  • Agilent 2.1 Hotfix 1
  • A.01.05

CAUSE

Corrupted Driver

FIX or WORKAROUND

  1. Log into LAC/E as a local Administrator.
  2. Remove the Instrument Component software by clicking Windows Start icon > All programs > Empower Folder > Remove the Instrument Component to remove the Agilent Instrument Control Framework (ICF) Support Version 2.1 Hotfix 1 for Empower Software.
  3. Restart LAC/E
  4. Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features.
  5. Uninstall Agilent Instrument Control Framework.
  6. Uninstall Agilent Instrument Control Framework - LC Driver.
  7. Restart LAC/E.
  8. Install Agilent Instrument Control Framework (ICF) Support Version 2.1 Hotfix 1 for Empower Software.
  9. Restart LAC/E.
  10. Agilent Instrument Control Framework (ICF) Update A.01.05.
  11. Restart LAC/E.
  12. Run as usual.
