Article number: 242541
SYMPTOMS
- 2414 Refractive Index Detector data can be retrieved, but 2998 Photodiode Array Detector data that is being acquired at the same time cannot be acquired
- 2998 data rows are saved on the "Channel" tab, but when reviewed shows "No data"
- During measurement, the data in 2414 is displayed on the monitor without any problem, while the data in 2998 is displayed with a frame but no data line
- While monitoring, 2998 data is also displayed in the monitor window
- Creating a new instrument method from the Run Samples window does not improve the issue
- Multiple "Command received while initializing" errors are logged in the Message Center
ENVIRONMENT
- Empower 3
- 2414 Refractive Index Detector
- 2998 Photodiode Array Detector
CAUSE
- Problems with projects, instrument methods, method sets, and chromatographic systems
- 2998 Detector power supply fault
FIX or WORKAROUND
- Create a new project, instrument method, and method set.
Check the characters used in each name.

- Select the system from the tree on the left-hand side.
- Select the system you want to rename and right-click > [Offline].
- Confirm that the Online column shows [No].
- Select the system you want to rename, right-click > select Open Chromatographic System Properties.
- Change the system name and click [OK].
- Bring the chromatographic system online. - Power supply fault
There is a possibility that the 2998 is restarting automatically due to a power supply fault.
How to check the problem:
Turn on instrument power and leave the instrument on with the lamp turned off.
If the lamp turns on automatically even though you did not turn it on, it may have restarted automatically (because the 2998 starts with the lamp on).
