SYMPTOMS
- "COM Fatal" error when connecting to a node or opening Node Properties
- Error can be bypassed by closing it multiple times
- "COM Fatal" error also seen when scanning for instruments in Node Properties
ENVIRONMENT
- Empower 3
- LAC/E
CAUSE
LAC/E had 7890 configured previously. System was physically removed. Error seen when node tried to connect with system.
FIX or WORKAROUND
- Delete INSTSRV.DAT from LAC/E.
- Reboot LAC/E.
