Cannot view the Empower control panel for a Thermo Vanquish system - WKB230501

SYMPTOMS

• This issue occurs on a BC LAC/E but not on the networked system
• Cannot view the Empower control panel for a Thermo vanquish system
• Drivers are installed, but we get the following error:

"An error has occurred in the script on this page.

• When selecting either yes or no nothing happens

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower
• Thermo Vanquish
• BC LAC/E

CAUSE

This is likely an Active X issue or is due to incorrect internet security settings. It is not an issue with Empower.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1) Reset Internet Explorer:

a. In Internet Explorer, navigate to Settings > Internet options.

b. Go to the Advanced tab, and then click Reset under Reset Internet Explorer settings > click Reset.

c. Select Delete personal settings according to your need, and then click Reset.

2) Confirm the Active X settings in IE.

Go to the Security tab and click on Trusted sites. In the Security level for this zone section, click the Custom level… Scroll until you reach the ActiveX controls and plug-ins.

Ensure that the check box next to the Initialize and script ActiveX controls are not marked as safe for scripting is set to Enable. Click OK at the bottom of both windows.

3) Run the following commands in a Administrator command prompt:

• >SFC /scannow

• >dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /checkhealth

• >dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth

• >dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

When the process is done, Restart the LACE.

4) Check the registry key 

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\3.

Is there a key named 1201? Is the value set to 3?

If it does not exist, go to New > DWORD (32-bit Value) and name it 1201.

Set the value to 3.
