SYMPTOMS

• Agilent G1365A produces the error message "Data invalid. At least for some diodes of the array the data produced are invalid due to too much light at a diode or a gain setting."

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3
• Agilent

CAUSE

The margin for negative absorbance is set too low.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Change the parameter "Margin for negative absorbance" to a higher value. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

It is possible that negative absorbance is high at the beginning of the run, or it may be just a reference issue. 

The reference spectra may need to be gathered from another part (a quieter part) of the chromatogram.

One case required an increase in value to 500 mAU.
