In Empower, short run time observed using 2695 and 2996 - WKB20302

SYMPTOMS

• Short run time observed in sample set (for example, run time is set to 30 minutes but sample runs only to 27 minutes)

ENVIRONMENT

• Alliance HPLC System
• 2695 Separations Module
• 2996 PDA Detector
• Empower 3

CAUSE

This is a known defect (PCS 53018) where there is potential for an instrument to reset its own sampling rate, resulting in shorter run times.

FIX or WORKAROUND

None. This is a rare occurrence.

Waters recommends that chromatograms be visually inspected for anomalies, such as an actual run time differing from the expected run time.
