Is it possible to change the default SID of Empower database in 3.6.0 and above? - WKB200692

Article number: 200692

ENVIRONMENT

  • Empower
  • 3.6.0 and higher
  • SID
  • Oracle
  • Pluggable Database (PDB)
  • Container database (CDB)

ANSWER

The change of SID is not provided in our standard Empower support documentation (release notes or installation guide ICUG).

Customers who require an SID different than the default EMPPDB1 need to order at least one consultancy day for us to develop such a procedure.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Empower 3.6.0 and higher are deployed as pluggable database (PDB). The pluggable database resides in a container database, and it is the details of the container database that are specified in the Empower installer. The PDB, which contains the Empower data, is created with the default name EMPPDB1, which is also the service name.

Customers with their own Oracle license deploying on Linux should have full control of how they name the container and pluggable databases. Refer to the Empower ICUG.
