Agilent 6890 GC with Edgeport and Empower has no communication - WKB20064

SYMPTOMS

• Status of 6890 in Empower Node Properties = No
• Reboot doesn't resolve

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3 FR2
• Workgroup/client server
• Edgeport
• Agilent 6890 GC

CAUSE

Wrong Baud Rate setting

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Go to the front-panel Communications menu on the 6890.
2. Change the Baud Rate setting to 19200.
3. Open Device Manager in Windows.
4. Go to Ports.
5. Select the COM port and go to Properties.
6. Under Port settings, set the Baud rate to 19200.
7. Click OK.
