ANSWER

Both Avocent and Edgeport USB-to-serial converters are supported in Empower 3 Feature Release 3. Avocent hubs have been discontinued and replaced by the Edgeport, but Avocent hubs may still be used. In order to use the Edgeport converter, you must be on Empower 3 Feature Release 2, minimum. Equinox cards (octopus cable) are no longer supported.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Because it is inbuilt in Empower, we never updated 6890 code to support firmware.

Use Firmware A.03.08 if you have 6890 I or II series.

If you have 6890N, use firmware N.06.07.
