SYMPTOMS
- 6890 does not communicate in Empower
- 6890 is set up correctly in the serial ports tab of the node properties
- Power cycling the GC and LAC/E in the correct order does not resolve the issue
ENVIRONMENT
- 6890 GC
- Empower
- Client Server
- COM port, equinox or Avocent Hub connection (not connected with Ethernet cable)
CAUSE
The baud rate and end of command are set incorrectly on the 6890.
FIX or WORKAROUND
- Change the baud rate for the 6890 to 19200 and "end of command" to be CR (carriage return) instead of LF.
- Reboot GC.
- Continue as normal.
