SYMPTOMS

  • When performing any manual integration and adding a dropline on the chromatograms using Apex Track, the peak area results are higher than expected

ENVIRONMENT

  • Empower 3 Feature Release 4 
  • Apex Track Integration
  • Thermo CAD
  • Thermo Scientific Chromeleon driver version:Thermo SII for Empower 1.1

CAUSE

Defect with Thermo SII for Empower 1.1

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. You can correct this issue by contacting Thermo and applying Hotfix 111938 for SII For Empower 1.1, Dec 2019.

2. Alternatively, use Traditional integration instead of ApexTrack integration algorithm.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

After applying the Hotfix, if you still see the problem, you will need to reach out to Thermo to report it to their driver development team. Waters is not involved with Thermo driver development and is not able to troubleshoot driver issues.
