Long delay between injections in Empower - WKB116408

SYMPTOMS

• With a 20-minute run time, there are normally only two minutes between injections
• In a single occurrence, there were three hours between injections

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3

CAUSE

Network issues reported by other users at the same site

FIX or WORKAROUND

Identify the root cause of the network issue and resolve accordingly.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Heavy network activity (server backups, for example—not just for Empower but for other servers and databases as well) creates a bottleneck in which Empower takes a long time to download the Sample Set Method, Method Set, and/or Instrument Method from the database between injections, thus causing a delay for the next injection.  

Ensure that you are not using any network encryption, compression, or prioritization tools (e.g., Riverbed). Such tools are unsupported and can cause issues with Empower functionality.
