SYMPTOMS
- May lose communication with 2998 when the LAC/E32 is rebooted while the instruments are powered-on

CAUSE
Systems that use mixed communication protocols (IEEE and Ethernet) may lose the Ethernet module when the LAC/E32 is rebooted while the instruments are powered-on.
FIX or WORKAROUND
- Power-off both IEEE 2695 and 2998 before rebooting the LAC/E32.
- If 2998 communication is lost, power-off both instruments (2695 and 2998). Open Node properties on the LAC/E32 and clear the two instruments in question from the Instruments tab. Open DHCP and clear 2998. Reboot the LAC/E32 and log back in. Open DHCP, and then turn on the 2998. Allow IP and attributes to populate. Power-on the 2695 and create the system again in Empower. Open Run Samples and confirm that communications have been re-established.
