SYMPTOMS

• Error when trying to import MassLynx 4.1 data to Empower 3 using Waters Data Converter 2 (WDC 2.1)

CAUSE

File size is too large.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Limit the file size.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The amount of data that can be converted and uploaded to Empower, is limited. The exact limit is determined mostly by system memory available to the conversion process, the exact data format variant being loaded (internal compression rate), and possible options to ignore specific data types. In our experience it is possible to stay well below the data size limits for all practical purposes, even if using runs with PDA and high-resolution MS data, because WDC2 supports centroided MS data only. The following examples may give some guidance to the upper size limit of raw data folder uploads:

ChemStation: 350 MB
MassLynx 4.0: 300 MB
MassLynx 4.1 data: 120 MB.
