Run does not proceed to the next injection with Agilent ALS, Pump and e-SAT/IN - WKB10864

SYMPTOMS

• First injection begins, however, it does not end (does not proceed to the next injection)  
• At the end of the run, system continues to show that it is acquiring for 10 minutes then an Instrument failure message appears

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3 Enterprise SR2 HF1
• Agilent ICF Support v2.2 with ICF A.02.03 DU2
• Chromatographic System:
  • Agilent 1100 ALS (controlled by Empower)
  • Agilent 1100 Pump (controlled by Empower)
  • e-SAT/IN (controlled by Empower)
  • Dionex ICS 2000 integrated IC (controlled by Chromeleon)
• Remote start cable connected from Agilent pump to Dionex IC
• Inject start cable connected from Dionex IC to e-SAT/IN

CAUSE

• Suspect intermittent start signal to Dionex IC (and thereby, to the e-SAT/IN) 

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Reconfigure the system so that the start/stop signal is coming from the Agilent autosampler to the e-SAT/IN.
2. Enable an auxiliary channel on the Agilent pump in the instrument method (auxilliary channel will ensure that the run ends).
