What is the Empower calibration curve reference field used for? - WKB10656

  • Empower 3

ANSWER

When you identify a calibration curve reference, the software does not create a calibration curve for the component listed in the row of the Components table; instead, it quantitates that peak using the curve generated for the peak specified as Curve Reference. You may identify a component as a curve reference when you do not have a standard and you want to use the calibration curve of another component to perform calibration. If necessary, the specified Curve Reference component can be a group peak (Named Group, Timed Group). You can use as entries any of the other component names in the Components table that do not use curve references.

You can specify units for a calibration curve that uses a Curve Reference set. When the component is quantitated using a reference calibration curve, the software first attempts to use the associated component’s units, if any. If no component units are found, the software uses the units of the referenced calibration curve.
