What is the difference between Oasis MCX and Oasis WCX? - WKB223269

Article number: 223269

ENVIRONMENT

  • Oasis MCX
  • Oasis WCX
  • Mixed-mode retention

ANSWER

The Oasis MCX is a strong cation exchanger and the Oasis WCX is a weak cation exchanger. Both have a mixed-mode retention mechanism.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The strong cation exchange MCX surface remains charged over a broad pH range. The weak cation exchange surface of the WCX has a charged surface above approximately pH 4. As pH approaches 4, the WCX surface begins to neutralize and ion exchange capacity drops off.
