Is there information on centrifuging Oasis and Sep-Pak 96-well plates? - WKB207378

Article number: 207378

ENVIRONMENT

  • 96-well plates
  • Centrifuging
  • Oasis
  • Sep-Pak

ANSWER

The plates can be centrifuged.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The centrifuge would be one that accommodates the SPE micro and macro plates that sit on top of 1-mL and 2-mL collection plates.

Typical starting speed is 3000 to 4000 rpm (around 3200 rcf), but rpm is based on rotor size and fixed vs. swing rotation and is centrifuge-specific. In general, start at a slow speed and ramp up the rpm/rcf slowly to a maximum of 4000 rpm (3200 rcf).

The amount of time needed to centrifuge at each step is depends on volume and the step. Load and elution steps should be slower than conditioning, equilibration, and wash steps.
