What filter was used to filter cell culture media samples for HPLC analysis of AccQ•Tag-derivatized amino acids in methods prior to AccQ•Tag Ultra? - WKB123805

Article number: 123805

ENVIRONMENT

  • Amino acid analysis (AAA)
  • AccQ•Tag for HPLC
  • Cell culture
  • Ultrafiltration

ANSWER

The filter was an Amicon MPS-1 ultrafiltration filter.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

For modern ACQUITY UPLC cell culture methods, sample filtration depends on the specific sample.

Historically, cell culture samples would be filtered through an ultrafiltration device to remove higher molecular weight cellular debris in the sample, prior to derivatization. If this option is wanted for sample preparation, send a water blank through the filter, and then derivatize the effluent collected and compare it against some underivatized water filtered by the filter, to check for contamination from the filter.
