How do I load large volume aqueous samples onto Oasis or Sep-Pak SPE cartridges? - WKB108992

Article number: 108992

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Connect tubing from Oasis SPE cartridges to sample containers in order to load large volume aqueous samples.

ENVIRONMENT

  • Oasis HLB
  • Oasis MCX
  • Oasis MAX
  • Oasis WCX
  • Oasis WAX
  • Vacuum cartridge
  • Solid-phase extraction (SPE)
  • Sample Preparation
  • Large volume aqueous samples

PROCEDURE

If using Plus or Classic cartridges:
1. Plug the Plus cartridge into a female luer opening on the top of a needle tip (which should already be inserted into the cover of vacuum manifold).
2. Plug WAT024310 - MALE/MALE LUER FITTING 100/BX to the top of the Plus cartridge.
3. Connect 1/8 inch ID tubing to the male adaptor (which extends up from the cartridge).
4. Run tubing from the cartridge into the sample container.
5. Load sample by turning on vacuum.

If using 1-cc, 3-cc, or 6-cc Vac cartridges:
1. Plug the cartridge into a female luer opening on the top of a needle tip (which should already inserted into the cover of vacuum manifold).
2. Plug WAT054260 - Sep-Pak Reservoir adaptor 12/box into the top of the 1-cc, 3-cc, or 6-cc Vac cartridge.
3. Plug WAT024310 - MALE/MALE LUER FITTING 100/BX into the female luer opening in the center of the Sep-Pak reservoir adaptor.
4. Connect 1/8 inch ID tubing onto the male adaptor (which extends up from the cartridge).
5. Run tubing from the cartridge into the sample container.
6. Load sample by turning on vacuum.

If using 12-cc, 20-cc, or 35-cc cartridges:
1. Plug the cartridge into a female luer opening on the top of a needle tip (which should already inserted into the cover of vacuum manifold).
2. Plug WAT048160 - ADAPTER,12,20,35CC into the top of the 12-cc, 20-cc, or 35-cc cartridge.
3. Plug in WAT024310 - MALE/MALE LUER FITTING 100/BX into the female luer opening in the center of the ADAPTER,12,20,35CC.
4. Connect 1/8 inch ID tubing onto the male adaptor (which extends up from the cartridge).
5. Run tubing from the cartridge into the sample container.
6. Load sample by turning on vacuum.

NOTE: Vac RC Cartridges are not designed to be connected to tubing like the cartridges above.
