Nonpolar: CR/GHP, PTFE, GHP

Protein: GHP, PVDF

Ion chromatography: IC, PES

2. What size are the particles in the column?

Greater than 3 µm: Use 0.45-µm filter pore.

Less than 3 µm: Use 0.2-µm filter pore.

3. What volume is your sample?

Less than 2 mL: Use 4-mm Acrodisc. Hold up volume less than 10 µL.

Less than 10 mL: Use 13-mm minispike Acrodisc. Hold up volume less than 14 µL.

Less than 10 mL: Use 13-mm male luer Acrodisc. Hold up volume less than 30 µL.

Less than 100 mL: Use 25-mm Acrodisc. Hold up volume less than 100 µL.

4. Use the solvent compatibility chart to determine if the solvent used is compatible with the solvent being run through the cartridge.
