What is the water-soluble vitamin standard stability in the autosampler for the Waters application note 720003052EN? - WKB202593

Article number: 202593

ENVIRONMENT

  • 12 water-soluble vitamin stability standard
  • Application note 720003052EN
  • ACQUITY HSS T3

ANSWER

The vitamins are cooled to 4 °C in the autosampler, and the ascorbic acid (Vit C) is stable for approximately 4 hours in the mix of all the vitamins together.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The vitamins must be kept away from light and heat.

The individual stock solution of each vitamin is made in a separate polypropylene container (not a mix).  These stock solutions are stored at 4 °C.

Three vitamins (folic acid, biotin, and riboflavin) are in their individual stock containers, solubilized in 0.1N NaOH, and these degrade in storage at 4 °C in a few days.

The stock solutions must be made up every few days and, if doing quantification, made fresh for the day of analysis.

When an aliquot of individual vitamin standards are mixed together for analysis, they are made up in 2-mL polypropylene vials and placed in the autosampler.
