What is the pH range for Torus UPC2 columns? - WKB59837

Article number: 59837

ENVIRONMENT

  • Torus UPC2 Columns
  • ACQUITY UPC2
  • SFC
  • Supercritical Fluid Chromatography

ANSWER

Waters has not studied minimum and maximum pH stability range for Torus UPC2 packings.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Waters has not tested Torus UPC2 packings for minimum and maximum pH stability. These columns are normally used as UPC2 (UltraPerformance Convergence Chromatography) columns, which are used in a non-aqueous environment for UPC2 applications. These columns are very stable in UPC2 applications (non-aqueous) even when ammonium hydroxide and other strong bases are included in the mobile phase as additives. These additives were not found to degrade the Torus chromatographic packing under UPC2 conditions. For example, Waters recommends using 20 mM ammonium hydroxide in methanol as the organic mobile phase for UPC2 separations.
